If you ever have the chance to visit Prague we would highly recommend it ... it's quaint and beautiful, seemingly "untouched" in many ways. Well worth the visit!
We were able to visit our friends (Steve, Julie, Anya, Preston and Sterling James) while we were there ... the picture of Amber and Julie was taken in the elevator in the building where the live.
As you can see, it's a tight squeeze.
The picture on the left is of the "Old Town Square" - bustling with people during the day and surrounded by a number of cafes, it is "the" place for tourists to see and be seen. The entire city is filled with churches, each of which is gorgeous. The one seen in the background here is the Tyn Cathedral, built in 1385 AD.The picture on the right is also from Old Town Square ... the large white building is the church of St. Nicholas (aka "Saint Nick"). The tree-lined street to the right is one of the most exclusive and expensive streets in Prague. The area to the left is known as the Jewish quarter.
One of the most famous places in Prague is the Charles Bridge. It is filled with local artists and hoards of tourists. It was built in the 1300s and named after Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor. The picture to the right is from the west end.
Another well-known site in Prague is the castle. The picture to the left is of us on the Charles Bridge during out last night ... you can see Prague Castle in the background.Lastly ... if ever in Prague don't pass up the ice cream. It is delicious! The picture to the below is from a late night stroll in town (with ice cream in hand).

Amber,
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your blog. Andrew will be jealous when I tell him you were in Prague. He is always talking about how awesome the architecture is there--I really want to go someday.
