Slackers

It's been over a month since our last post - I hope this is not a sign of our inability to maintain a blog. A number of our friends are very diligent in posting new things each week ... and it is causing me to feel like an extreme slacker. In my attempt to catch up on lost time, I'm constructing a top 10 list .... I know it will not be near as exciting at the European one but it's still our life.


10. Amber made a decision about grad school. As she has been known to do in the past - she registered for class on the first day of class. She is taking 9 hours (all at night) and enjoying being back at DBU studying something she loves. She also took the GRE ... for the first and only time. Yea!!!

9. Michael's been at his job for over a month and is continuing to enjoy it. He has already experienced a few lunch outings with co-workers ... and usually has a good story (or two) to tell from the experience. For now, it's our own version of "The Office"

8. Speaking of TV shows ... "Damages" on FX is a new interest for us. It is not the "watch while you fall asleep in bed" type of show - and we wouldn't recommend it for everyone. However, we have enjoyed the story line and are making good use of our DVR since this comes on while Amber is in class.

7. As promised ... a report on the elliptical machine. Michael is still using it. Amber can't say the same for herself but maybe this public confession will prompt her to "get with it" again.


6. We spent a weekend at Lake Kiowa with our Sunday School class - and had a blast. Hopefully we'll get some pictures up soon. We did it all - water ski, tube, horseshoes, laying out and lots of yummy food. We really enjoy our class and are looking forward to spending another year with them ... which leads us to #5

5. Michael is teaching the class. It's a Young Marrieds class at First Baptist Dallas and we feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful group of friends. If you're ever in town ... please come join us.

4. Amber visited the Murphree Family in Memphis . She had a blast playing with baby Charlotte and spending lots of time with Courtney ... they even managed to squeeze in some Felicity ... sweet college memories!


3. Michael went dove hunting with Amber's Dad, uncle, cousin and a bunch of other rowdy guys. Let the record state that MV got the first kill of the day ... first shot ... and BAM!













2. Amber chopped off about 9 inches of her hair and Zoe's is longer than ever. We'll have to get a picture up soon for all to see.

1. And finally ... we've got a big month ahead of us ...

two birthdays (Michael's turning 30)
friends visiting from out of town (James' and Tomas')
and a trip to Vegas (with Amber's mom)

Hopefully this will prompt us to blog a little more often. Until then ...
