Just in time for the July 4th holiday, our air conditioning unit decided to go on vacation. Actually, it decided to retire. Permanently. This was not a major surprise since the thing was probably built during the Carter Administration. However, it does pose a bit of an inconvenience given that we're in triple-digit temperatures in Texas. We had to seek refuge with local family members who were willing to take in a couple of refugees fleeing their homeland. What makes it worse is that they are replacing our roof right now and the A/C unit is mounted on the roof so we have to wait for them to finish the roof before they bring a crane to hoist the thing up there (and for those of you who are wondering... yes, CRANE = $$$). We've been living like gypsies the past week or so. We should be back to a comfortable 73 degrees by Wednesday or Thursday. We hope.
In the meantime, we're having a heatwave!
